So for those of you who haven't heard yet, my dad passed early Tuesday morning. So I'm in the Phillipines right now.
I'll be back in St. Louis friday evening. We're staying at a different place than last time, and wifi isn't as reliable here, so I don't know how frequent these will be, but I'll try to keep everyone updated. |

Yeah, so for those of you still wondering, yes I'm going to the phillipines, yes I'm going. Leaving for L.A. this evening, then overseas tomorrow.
Thanks for all the perspectives, it's all been helpful, and for those who have been trying to give me some optimism, thanks for that as well - though as I told Witchgrrl the other night, an open-minded pessimism is about the best I can manage until I get there.
Plenty of perk to going, I'm still trolling off to the other side of the planet for someone I don't particularly like. c`est la vie, right?
Anyway, I'll try to keep something posted - if nothing else so everyone knows I didn't do my famous impression of "ball of fire crashing into ocean."

Yeah, I figured it would work out this way. No details, sorry. Just frustration with figuring out how to work around my schedule for the weekend. So I know where there's a couple things going down on Friday... anyone else have something crazy planned for Friday Night? I think a good party hoppin session sounds fun.
Edit: Oh yeah, forgot this important bit of info. The bonfire's cancelled. We're thinking about it for a couple weeks into November.

Ok, so I guess I haven't posted a "my life" update in a bit so let's do that first. I work alot and sleep a little.
Now, on to the fun stuff. First bit, we're a bit shorthanded at the Hustler Store, so anyone looking for a job should pop on up and drop off an application. It's not a guaranteed thing, as my boss mentioned he has an interview tomorrow, but it's a shot. Just don't do follow up calls up there, he'll call if he wants to interview you.
Now, on to the actually fun stuff. I just got off the phone with Delamorte not too long ago, and we're looking at a halloween party out at the farm on Friday the 31st. Booze, fun, costumes, HUGE FUCKING BONFIRE!!! At least so I'm told. He said there's been stuff piling up on it for a bit now.
Before the party itself, I've got a Samhain ritual in mind. Anyone who would be interested in something like that should contact me individually and I'll give you more details on what I'm planning. |

so here's what's going on at the Sleep Inn. my boss I guess really wants to keep me working there, so he's helping me find a way to get some wheels. if that works, then I'm going to stay on there. looks like it might actually work, but I'll post again when I know for sure. sorry it took so long to follow up on this. things have been crazy. |

This post is only for those friends who live in or around the St. Louis area (the job itself is in O'Fallon, IL).
So it's looking like I may have to quit my hotel job due to vehicle issues. Which means anyone who's looking for work (or different work than what they're doing) might be interested in looking into this. It's an overnight (11p - 7a) hotel front desk position.
Duties include, checking guests in and out of the hotel, folding sheets and towels, some light cleaning (sweep/mop floors, gather dirty towels from pool and workout room and wash them, etc), night audit (daily financial reports, seems a pain at first, but once you get used to it and find a rhythm it takes about 15 min and it's pretty easy), and setting up the continental breakfast.

Seriously, I knew they were going to fuck me. Knew it damn well. But I, like a dumbass, thought they would at least give me time to lube up or maybe just let me relax my sphincter a bit. But no. Gotta get straight to it with something spiky.
So for those just tuning in; RSIG Security, who has been my employer for the last year and 4 months, decided to pull out of St. Louis. Yale Enforcement services bought all the contracts with a stipulation from RSIG that we all get hired. I now suspect (and I should have thought of this the moment I heard the news) that they only included that stipulation so they wouldn't have to pay unemployment.
So from the start, I started asking Yale about notice regarding schedule changes, and was assured multiple times that my schedule would remain the same.
I could tell right away that it was bullshit, but I never expected to drive in to St. Louis and find another guard there already. I also found out that I'm not expected to go in tonight at midnight, so I actually lose an entire double shift.
So tomorrow, I'm going to call in sick and Monday, I'm going to turn in my uniform.
Fuck these assholes.

Yeah, so Sunday's my birthday, and while I try not to make that big a deal out of it, it does function as a reasonable excuse to get people together for some fun time.
So here's the plan. Around 6 or 6:30 there will be some lazer taggy goodness at Lazer Force in Caseyville, IL. Post a reply or call me if you need directions.
After that, there may or may not be some shinai fighting for a couple hours in woodland park in Collinsville (depends on weather and how tired everyone is after lazer tag).
I'm considering trying to hit up Gateway Fun Park for some gokart racing at some point during this but no guarantees.
After all is said and done, it's Aries at Larry's (Larry Flynt's Hustler Club) probably starting around 10 or 11. I have a plethora of $2 passes, so if you're interested in heading out for that, call me first so I can get you in cheap.
Now, all that said, I realize some of my friends don't particularly like each other, and as such, there may be people invited to this little adventure that don't necessarily get along. I'd like to see all my friends there, and I'd like to think that everyone can at least do their best to ignore the people they don't like. However, I won't take offense to those who don't want to show because of someone else they think might be there. As I said, I'm not trying to hold people to anything just because it's my birthday, I'm only using it as an excuse to get people together for some fun.

To get there from Illinois south of Alton, take rte 3 North until it turns into Homer Adams Parkway. Take the College Avenue/Hwy 140 exit and turn left at the bottom of the ramp. It will be on your right side, just before Washington Avenue. It's just a couple blocks west of the Robert Wadlow statue. There is a gas station across the street, and a Walgreens nearby.
From Springfield, take I55 South until the Highway 140 exit (I believe it will say Alton). Take a right from the ramp, and eventually 140 will become College Avenue. It will be on your right side, just before Washington Avenue. It's just a couple blocks west of the Robert Wadlow statue. There is a gas station across the street, and a Walgreens nearby.
From MO, the best way is to just take 270 to rte 3 North and follow as the Illinois directions.
